Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 2nd August, 2026

Most cookies simply keep Total Parks working, remember your choices, and protect your booking. We also use some measurement tools to learn what is useful and improve the site.

Your three choices

  • No thanks: Total Parks will not start optional site improvement or advertising measurement.
  • Improve site only: We can see which park pages and features are useful so we can make Total Parks better.
  • Allow: This includes site improvement and lets us measure whether a participating ad led to a booking.

These choices never affect your booking. Use "Privacy choices" in the footer to change your mind later.

If you came from an ad

With "Allow", we may tell the advertising service that the ad led to a booking. We include the booking time, total value and currency. We do not send your name, contact or payment details, booking reference, park, or stay details. Our advertising measurement does not add an advertising cookie or script to Total Parks.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps us understand which pages people use. It is separate from the three choices above. Google provides a browser add-on to opt out.

Technical cookie and storage details

This Cookie Policy explains how Total Parks Pty Ltd ("Total Parks", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at totalparks.com.au and any related websites, applications, or services (collectively, the "Platform"). This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website owners useful information about how their site is being used.

Cookies can be "persistent" or "session" cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser until they expire or you delete them. Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and account access. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Platform would not function properly without them.

  • Authenticating users and preventing fraudulent use of accounts
  • Remembering your login details and preferences
  • Maintaining session state across page requests
  • Processing transactions and bookings
  • Ensuring security and detecting abuse

Performance and Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our Platform by collecting and reporting usage information. This helps us improve the way our Platform works and measure the effectiveness of our content.

  • Counting visits and traffic sources to measure and improve performance
  • Understanding which pages are most and least popular
  • Seeing how visitors navigate around the Platform
  • Identifying errors and issues with the Platform
  • Testing different versions of pages or features

When our first-party improvement measurement is enabled, the "Help us improve Total Parks" choice offers "Allow", "Options", and "No thanks". You can change this choice later through "Privacy choices" in the footer. This control is separate from Google Analytics. When site improvement is allowed, we use an opaque 30-minute journey cookie to connect visible park results, park or room interactions, completed availability checks, and an optional cart. We may classify a visit from bounded campaign tags or the referring site's origin, but we do not store raw page queries or guest details.

If you choose "Allow" after arriving from a participating ad, we may retain a bounded, opaque reference supplied by the advertising service. After an attributed booking is confirmed, our server may send that service one conversion signal containing the opaque reference, a separate opaque event ID, booking time, gross amount and currency, and a fixed confirmation-page URL. We do not send your name, email or hash, phone, IP address, browser identifier, park details, confirmation reference, or the page query. Our current advertising measurement does not install an advertising provider's pixel, cookie, or browser script.

When you open Total Parks checkout inside a registered distribution partner's website, that partner is responsible for the analytics permission described in its privacy terms. The embedded checkout does not use the website preference cookie or rely on third-party cookies. It uses separate high-entropy values in session and local storage to connect the embed open, date engagement, completed availability checks, and optional cart. Total Parks stores only hashes of those values. The partner identity and normalized parent-site origin are checked against our active registry, and invalid measurement never prevents checkout.

Functionality Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use on our Platform.

  • Remembering your preferences and settings
  • Personalising content based on your location or interests
  • Remembering choices you make (such as language or region)
  • Providing enhanced features and services

Advertising Measurement

This optional setting measures whether a participating advertisement contributes to a booking. It does not personalise advertisements or add an advertising provider's script or cookie to Total Parks.

  • Retaining a bounded, opaque reference from a participating advertisement
  • Measuring whether that advertisement contributed to a confirmed booking
  • Sending only the limited server-side conversion signal described above

Third-Party Services and Technologies

We use third-party services for basic site analytics and secure payments, and may use the server-side advertising measurement described above. Their role depends on the service:

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics for basic site analytics, such as understanding pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser information, and interactions with site features. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information and provides us with aggregated reports about Platform usage. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.
  • Advertising measurement services:With your advertising measurement choice, a participating service may receive the limited, server-only booking result described above. Our current integration does not load an advertising provider's browser script or set its cookie.
  • Payment Processors: Our payment processors may use cookies to facilitate secure transactions.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Browser Storage

In addition to cookies, Total Parks uses session storage and local storage for bounded preferences, cart continuity, and the registered embed measurement values listed below. This browser storage stays on your device until its stated expiry, you withdraw the relevant choice, or you clear it.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several options for managing cookies. Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of our Platform may not function properly.

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu of your browser. The following links provide information on how to manage cookies in common browsers:

Measurement Controls

Use "Privacy choices" in the footer to allow, limit, or withdraw Total Parks' first-party measurement. Google also provides a Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. There is currently no uniform standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. At this time, we do not respond to DNT signals, but we continue to monitor developments in this area.
